01Your choice
Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set before you choose, and rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting. You can change your mind here, at any time, and it takes effect immediately.

02What is set
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| seenby_session | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in between pages. Without it you would have to sign in on every page load. | Until you sign out, or 30 days. |
| seenby.cookie-choice | Strictly necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies, so we stop asking. Stored in your browser, not sent to us. | 12 months. |
| seenby_csrf | Strictly necessary | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery. | Session. |
| Analytics | Optional | Counts page views at an aggregate level so we can see which parts of the site are used. Set only if you accept. | Up to 14 months. |
03Why the necessary ones do not need consent
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, a cookie that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for does not require consent. Keeping you signed in, remembering your cookie choice, and protecting a form against forgery all fall into that. Everything else does require consent, and we ask for it.
04Controlling cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies from its settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop you being able to sign in. We do not do anything to work around a browser setting, and we do not use any device fingerprinting or similar technique in place of a cookie.
